Who We Are

IGNITE: began in October 2010 with one mission: "To ignite a generation of college students & young adults to become passionate and transformed followers of Jesus Christ".  We believe this can only happen through knowing what Jesus taught and living it out!  We seek to be a place where true community takes place and where passion for God drives us to make a difference in our lives and the lives of those around us.

our mission: to ignite passion and transformation in the lives of young adults

Our Core Values

Prayer

We believe that everything we do needs to start and end with prayer. Not routine, memorized, and formulaic prayer that doesn't mean anything. BUT meaningful, relational, and desperate prayer that calls on God to act in our lives and the lives of people around us!

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, shall guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. - Philippians 4:6-7

Worship

We believe that worship is our natural response to who God is... And although we are passionate about singing praise to God, we believe that worship means submitting our lives to Him in every way and living out our lives in praise to God!

I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. - Romans 12:1-2

Community

We believe that Jesus came proclaiming another way of living life together. And we believe that as we follow Him, we can have a community of love and friendship that is deeper and richer than anything else we could find.

Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves. Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. Share with the Lord's people who are in need. Practice hospitality. - Romans 12:9-13

Compassion

We believe that people who are passionate and transformed by Jesus are compassionate people. And our mission should be to intentionally act with compassion to every person we meet.

The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me, because the LORD has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners. - Isaiah 61:1
